We want the prom to be a special, memorable event for everyone!  Like most things that involve a lot of participants, we need to have a few rules to make sure that the prom is a safe, fun night for everyone!  The prom is open to all area homeschoolers and their guests, ages 14-20.

Gentlemen are required to wear formal, semi-formal, or special occasion attire: tuxedo, suit, or dress pants with dress shirt and tie.

Ladies are required to wear formal, semi-formal or special occasion attire. No skin-tight or see-through dresses. No deeply cut neck lines or excessive cleavage. Backless dresses are permitted, provided backless portion does not dip below natural waistline. Two-piece dresses are permissible, as long as the skirt portion does not sit below the natural waistline (no belly buttons), and there is no more than a 2" gap between top and bottom pieces. Hem and slit length are to be to mid-thigh or longer (approximately fingertip length). If you have *ANY* questions as to the appropriateness of a dress, you may send a full-length photo of yourself in the dress for approval to: thegheprom@gmail.com. The above requirements must be met while standing, sitting and dancing.

*No foul or inappropriate language
*Modest dancing (subject to chaperones' discretion)
*MInimal public display of affection (subject to chaperones' discretion)
*No alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or weapons of any kind.  All are prohibited.  Possession of any of the aforementioned items will result in the offender being immediately asked/required to leave the premises.

*Medical emergency devices, such as Epi-pens and inhalers are allowed, please let us know if you have these upon check in, and on your registration form.
*Leaving and re-entering prom is prohibited, unless approved by chaperone.

*No large bags or large purses may be brought into the venue.

We reserve the right to refuse entry or to remove, without refund, anyone for not complying with these rules.

PARENTS:  We know that you will want to see the venue and get a little glimpse of what is happening at prom, so you are welcome to come in and have a look around, but we respectfully ask that you stay no longer than 5-10 minutes.  We will be posting pictures on our social media during the evening, so tune in to facebook, instagram and twitter for some candid photos and videos.

PICTURES AND TICKET PRICES

We will have a photographer for formal pictures on location from 6:30p - 9p.  They are included in the ticket price so make sure you go to the photography area and have your picture taken!  Individual, couples, and group photos are allowed. You will be able to download your digital images from the website.   We will also have some photo props available for selfies.

GHE Member tickets are $45, and non-GHE Member tickets are $50.  If you are bringing guests, you will need to register and purchase a ticket(s) for them as well.

Registration is secured only after tickets have been purchased.  **No paper tickets are issued, "tickets" refers to admission price.

From Wendover Avenue north of town, Hwy. 220 North is called Battleground Avenue. Continue north on Battleground Avenue through the next stop light (there is a school on your left and apartments on your right at that light but it isn't really an intersection). Take a right at the next stop light which is Owls Roost Road (you can only take a right at that light). Take your first left which is Bur-Mil Club Road (you can only take a left at that point) and you're in the park. The Bur-Mil Family Aquatic Center is on your left at that intersection.

From the NORTH (Hwy. 220 from Martinsville), after going through the Strawberry Road stop light and over the Lake Brandt spillway, take a left at the next stop light onto Owls Roost Road (you can only take a left at that intersection). Take your first left which is Bur-Mil Club Road (you can only take a left at that point) and you're in the park. The Bur-Mil Family Aquatic Center is on your left at that intersection.

Follow the signs directing you to the parking area further down, and on the left.
